Rules that change the audit or modules

The table shows the standard audit and modules for each group. These rules can change them. Module names follow the Provider Registration Rules: “Module 6: Verification” (Schedule 8) is what the NDIS Commission calls the Verification module.

  • If you apply for groups with both audit types, you need a certification audit. A certification assessment also satisfies any standard that only requires verification.

Source: NDIS Commission registration groups page; NDIS (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018, s23

  • Specialist disability accommodation (0131) on its own is assessed against Module 5 only. With any other group, it needs the Core module and Module 5.

Source: NDIS (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018, s20(3) items 31 and 31A

  • Any group delivered where a regulated restrictive practice is, or is likely to be, needed is also assessed against Module 2A: Implementing behaviour support plans, by certification.

Source: NDIS (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018, s20(1) and (2)

  • An individual or partnership providing early intervention supports for early childhood (0118) is assessed against clause 7 of the Core module and Module 3 only.

Source: NDIS (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018, s20(4) and (5)

  • Commonwealth, state, territory and local government providers are assessed against the Core module, by certification, for any group.

How many NDIS registration groups are there?

There are 38 registration groups, also called classes of support, numbered 0101 to 0138. 15 need a certification audit and 23 need a verification audit.

Where can I see the Practice Standards for a group?

Each group's section on this page lists its modules. SIL (0138), digital platforms (0137), behaviour support (0110), plan management (0127) and early childhood (0118) have their own pages with the outcomes and quality indicators, and the Practice Standards self-assessment lists every outcome for the groups you choose.
